Chandigarh, November 13— Children Day is being celebrated every year on 14th November. This year importance of children day has been enhanced and as per guidelines of Government of India State Government has decided to celebrate this week as Bal Swachhta Week in the State from 14th November to 19th November, 2014. The main objective of this Bal Swachhta Week is to aware the children for their cleanliness and it should be added in their daily routine. Activities related to Bal Mela, Weight and Measurement of Children, Healthy Baby Competition, Village Health & Nutrition Day, Nutrition and Health Education & Painting and Clay Modelling Competition will be organized at Anganwadi Centres during this week. During the week the activities related to Clean Anganwadis, Clean Surrounding, Personal Hygiene / Child Health, Clean Food, Clean Drinking Water & Clean Toilets will be organized with the involvement of all Anganwadi Workers and Mother’s Groups.
To celebrate this day with pomp and show a state level function is being organized at Kali Dass Rangshala, Karnal with the collaboration of District Child Welfare Council. Smt. Kavita Jain, Hon’ble Women and Child Development Minister will be the Chief Guest and Hon’ble Sh. Krishan Kumar, Minister of State, WCD Department will preside over the function. Dr. R. P. Chander, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary WCD Department will be the Guest of Honour. During this function cultural programme will also be organized and Hon’ble WCD Minister will distribute the prizes to the participants. This function will be organized under the overall supervision of Deputy Commissioner, Karnal.
