Mohali,21 Dec : Ashmah International School Celebrated the Christmas, with great fervor and gusto at Sector 70,Mohali. The school was decked up with the festive lights, festoons, balloons and ribbons. Students of Ashmah School had decorated the Christmas tree very creatively and had come dressed in bright and colourful party dresses.
The highlight of the day was a play based on the birth and teachings of Jesus Christ. The play motivated the students to follow the teachings of the Christ and lead a virtuous, action oriented and meaningful life which is the underlined ideas in all the religions. Students from classes III, IV and V sang carols like Showers of Blessings, Jingle Bells, and Merry Christmas etc.
As the little ones were dancing to the tunes of jingle bells, the young Ashmians asked Santa for a novel gift of freeing the planet Earth from all its problem of global warming and corruption. Santa distributed gifts and assured children to pray for peace.
Principal, Mrs. R. Ghuman spoke about exemplary personalities who thought about making the world a better place by touching people’s lives more meaningfully which is actually the real message of Christmas. She also spoke about the origins of the Christmas tree and Santa Clause. She told that the evergreen tree was an ancient symbol of life in the midst of winter. Romans decorated their houses with evergreen branches during the New Year.
Director, Mr. J.S. Kesar (IAS, Retd) appreciated the efforts of the students and Staff and while blessing the children said that these kinds of celebrations are educative as well as entertaining to break the monotony of the students, besides gave chance to students to show their hidden talents on the stage and enhance the confidence level of the children. Overall, it was a celebration with lots of fun, joy and a message to spread peace.
