The Annual Prize distribution function of SCD Government College Ludhiana was today held in Sahir Auditorium of the College. The Chief Guest on this occasion was Mr. S.K. Goyal (IRS) Chairman, Central Board of Excise and Customs, New Delhi. He was accorded a cordial welcome on his arrival to the college. After a formal introduction, the academic procession lead him to t he auditorium. The function was started with the seeking of the blessings of the almighty. The report of the college was presented by Principal Mrs. Jasbir Kaur Makkar wherein she enlisted the achievements of the college students in various fields. In her welcome address she said that it was a proud moment for the college to have an alumnus as its chief Guest. She also implored the students to continue working hard and to aim high in life. She then invited the honorable chief guest to begin the prize distribution.
In all 297 prizes were given to students for their outstanding achievements in the field of academics, sports and cultural activities. These included 42 college colour certificates, 40 merit certificates, 30 prizes to NSS students and 10 certificates to achievers in NCC and air wing activities. The winners were also given a trophies and certificates.
In his address to the students the worthy chief guest said that it was a nostalgic moment for him to stand in his alma mater. He expressed his happiness and pride at being a n alumnus of one of the biggest and the best colleges of Punjab. He congratulated the prize winners and advised them to make the optimum use of this golden period of their life. He said that these were the most crucial years of their education as these formative years would play a major role in shaping their destiny.
