Mohali,21 March : Ashmah International School, Sector – 70, Mohali, organized annual prize distribution ceremony at the school premises. many students were awarded for excelling in the fields of Academics, sports and co-curricular activities. Chief Guest, Mr. J.S. Kesar, I.A.S. gave the prizes to the senior students and he appreciated the efforts of the students.While Principal of the school Mrs. Roopinder Ghuman, gave prizes to the junior students. She congratulated all the winners and advised the students that besides academics and sports all must try to become good human beings.She advised the students to ‘develop their communication skills as it would help to change the country and make it a great nation’. She further stated that the school constantly endeavors to impart ‘holistic education’ that is aimed at preparing the students to become ‘global citizens and agents of social change committed to humanistic values and Indian traditions’. Through an impressive audio-visual presentation, the entire gamut of school activities and achievements during the academic session 2011-12 were also highlighted. 140 students received laurels and prizes in various categories. s
The cultural programme of the day provided a peep into the country’s rich cultural mosaic while focusing on the warmth of traditional Indian hospitality that can be simply summed up as ‘Atithi Devo Bhavo’. The programme consisted of rhythmical instrumental music, melodious medley of songs from different parts of the country and the enthralling dance drama, ‘Dance Collage’An Art and Craft Exhibition showcasing the creative abilities of the students from the Primary to Sr.Sec. Department was also put up on the occasion. It was a visual treat and nourishment for the aesthetic sensibilities of the audience.The students of the school gave a stupendous performances of dances, skits and songs.
