Mohali : Gian Jyoti Public School, Phase-2, Mohali wore a festive look and presented a feast for the eyes, by presenting the cultural burlesque of melody and ballet to mark its 34th Annual Day Celebrations at Tagore Theatre, Sector 18, Chandigarh.
The honourable Chief Guest Sh. R.J. Khanderao, Deputy Secretary, Regional Officer, Central Board of Secondary Education, Panchkula was given a warm welcome by the students and the Principal of the School, Mrs. Ranjeet Bedi and the Chairman S. J.S. Bedi along with the other members of the staff.
The day started with lighting up of ‘Deep Shikha’ the lamp of knowledge, which was followed by a very melodious shabad – ‘Avval Allah Noor Upaya’ and ‘Ganeh Vandana’.A scintillating bouquet of cultural extravaganza was united with the dances like Kashmiri Dance, Rajasthani Dance, Naga Dance, Western Dance, Punjabi Dance and Haryanvi Dance and Giddha which were delightfully presented by the students. Shakespear’s Play ‘Macbeth’ was very tastefully enacted.Punjabi Play ‘Varas’ was applauded by the audience for awakening the society to give equal rights to the girl child also. A tribute to the old Hindi Songs from 1940’s to 1980’s was considered to be the most entertaining item presented by the students from the Class 1 in which around 75 students participated with a lot of fervor.Skate Dance and Aerobics presented by the young Gian Jyotians from upper middle classes were really considered to be the unique items which were specially applauded by the chief guest and the other dignitaries.
Annual Report of the school was presented coupled with power point presentation by Ms. Maninder Kaur Randhawa. The highlight of the day was that each item was accompanied with power point presentation.
Honourable Chief Guest honoured the toppers of Gian jyoti for their academic achievements. Harsimar Kaur of XII Medical stream stood first in Mohali by scoring 93.4% marks. She got 100% marks in Chemistry and topped the list of ALL INDIA-PMT Results. she cleared All India Institute of Medical Sciences entrance for MBBS course 2011’ with a very respectable 10th rank. She was given special honour and applaude.He, in his address, congratulated the Principal, Mrs. Ranjeet Bedi to put her soul in the school and to take long strides in rendering quality education in Mohali and surrounding areas.
Mr. J.S. Bedi, Chairman, Gian Jyoti Group of Institutes presented Vote of thanks to the chief guest, patrons, parents and the other dignitaries. He also appreciated the dedicated efforts of the staff members and the students to make ceaseless efforts to make this day a memorable one.
