Desh Bhagat University School of Nursing, observed AIDS awareness week. Students in large number from all Nursing classes took part in it with full zest and zeal. These students organised “AIDS Awareness Camp” at Community Health Centre, Amloh and several another places under the guidance of Director Dr. Ramandeep Dhillon, and Director Kuldeep Longia of University School of Nursing. To mark the event, the students displayed posters on AIDS awareness at Community Health Centre, Amloh & performed a role play on AIDS to make the public aware regarding the prevention of the disease. Dr. Jagdish Kaur (SMO) appreciated the students for this highly informative movement on AIDS. Apart from this, the students also arranged a Nukaar Natak on ‘Myths related to AIDS’ at Amloh. The Nursing students also participated in a rally in Amloh. Colorful banners and placards with awareness messages were carried by the students to change the public perception about AIDS.
Desh Bhagat University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh inspired the students to undertake this Awareness Drive and appreciated the students and teachers of Nursing School for their efforts to make the community aware about this dreadful disease by organising such events.. He also exhorted the students to start a decisive drive against Aids and drug abuse through posters and awareness rallies.
Pro Chancellor Tejinder Kaur patted the backs of the students for working to enhance this noble cause. They said that such programmes are very helpful for the people, especially for the rural area people to make them aware against this dangerous disease.
