New Delhi, January 8 : Keeping in view the growing demand of competent media professionals in the ever-expanding media industry, Asian News International (ANI), India’s only multimedia news agency, has recently launched ANI School of Media Studies. The school is located in the heart of New Delhi at Gole Market, Connaught Place. Admissions in various streams of media courses are open and the course classes will begin soon.
The school has been established with the objective of providing practical training in various streams of media such as print, online, broadcast and photo, apart from techno courses like audio-video editing. The school’s endeavour is to give trained and talented professionals to the industry.
“Why budding journalists have to go through the rigours of training even after completing their professional education. The institutes and universities are presumably not imparting crucial practical training to students and, as a result, students lack the basic skills of reporting news with clarity of thought and language,” said Surinder Gosain, Director of ANI School of Media Studies in a press release by adding “We have set up such facilities to give environs of a TV/radio or print media house”.
Currently, the school is offering three-month certificate courses in nine media streams. The details are available on the website www.ani-sms.com.
The thrust of education in ANI-SMS is on the practical aspects. “70 per cent of our training is committed to making students learn the practical aspects in each course,” said Surinder Gosain.
The school has a perfect mix of academicians and working professionals as its faculty. The school will also be organising special lectures by eminent personalities of media to share their experiences with the students.
