Chandigarh : Akhil Bharatiya Vidharthi Parishad (ABVP) organized a mass rally and Vidhan Sabha Gherav over issue of privatization of education and Drug Abuse. Thousand of students from Punjab reached rally ground Chandigarh to save education in Punjab and to save youth of state from the evil of drug abuse. Starting from rally ground ABVP marched towards Punjab Vidhan Sabha.
During Rally while addressing the students, State Secretary ABVP Vikas Singla said “we had started a mass movement against drugs in state and also in many cities and villages tried to make youngsters and students aware about this, but till now our Government has failed to make a strong policy to stop it, that’s why we are now adopting the path of protest”.
He added “Government has failed on both issues, and if they will not make any strong policies in these issues, we will make our agitation more aggressive”. ABVP demands from Punjab Government to take strong actions against the drug racket of Rs. 6K Cr. Which was exposed in past few months. And also to pass a sepical bill in Vidhan Sabha.
We also demands from Government to have check on newly formed private universities and colleges. For this New “Education Regulatory Commission” should be formed” to have check on syllabus and fee structure of these intuitions.
During this Naveen Sharma ( North Zone Organizing Secretary ABVP), Dinesh Chauhan (North India University In-charge ABVP) and Suraj Bhardwaj (state org secretary) said “the funds of post metric scholarship of ST & SC students should be released with immediate effect”.
Sh Bhardwaj also added “the private intuitions who are doing corruption on the name of Post metric scheme, Government should take strict action against them”. ABVP will not compromise on these issues and also warns Government of Punjab to work on these issues and save the education and Youngsters of state from drug abuse.
