Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister, made an appeal to the people of the State to liberally contribute towards the welfare of ex-servicemen and their wards on Flag Day being observed on 7th December every year. He was pinned the flag by Brig. R.S. Rana, Director, Sainik Welfare Department, at his official residence, here today to commemorate the occasion.
Chief Minister said that the brave sons of the State had been rendering valuable service for the nation and making supreme sacrifices. He said that it was the moral duty of the countrymen to lend their supportive hand to the families of the martyrs and the critically injured soldiers towards their appropriate rehabilitation. He said that the contribution made on Flag Day was being utilized over the welfare activities being carried for the widows and wards of the soldiers. He said that although all out efforts were being made by the State Government to extend all possible help to such families but public support and contribution was of immense importance in carrying forward such programmes.
Prof. Dhumal appealed to the people of Himachal Pradesh to liberally contribute towards the Fund so that the same could be provided to the deserving families to carry forward with various welfare activities.
