New Delhi,24 May:The Home Minister, Mr Shivraj Patil has said the government will make all out efforts to make para-military forces capable of facing any challenge. He also underlined the need for equipping them with the latest technologies including arms, transport and communication facilities. Mr. Patil was speaking at an Investiture Ceremony of the Boarder Security Forces (BSF) in New Delhi on Sunday.
He gave away Police Medals for Gallantry, meritorious services and U. N. Peace Keeping Medals to outstanding BSF personnel.The Home Minister recalled the dual role played by the para-military forces such as policing and protecting the country’s boarders in difficult terrains like icy areas, deserts and inaccessible hilly areas. Mr. Patil assured them that the government will try to remove anomalies in the implementation of the 6th Central Pay Commission recommendations.
