Mar 26 : Army Chief General Deepak Kapoor has said that Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) is still active in Pakistan despite the action that Islamabad claims to have taken against the outfit. He said that about 40 to 50 terror camps are operational across the Line of Control and terrorists are waiting for an opportunity to infiltrate.
He was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a reception to gallantry and service medal winners in New Delhi on Wednesday. Gen. Kapoor said that a strict vigil is being maintained on the LoC to thwart the attempts by militants to infiltrate in Kashmir. On the question of Taliban taking control of large area in Pakistan, he said there is no need to worry as Indian Army is capable to deal with any situation.
