June 15:India is planning to develop an anti-missile shield against any conventional or nuclear attack. Top scientist of Defence Research and Development Organistation, Dr. V.K. Saraswat said in New Delhi that the missile shield will have highly sensitive radars to track the incoming missile, besides an interceptor that can destroy it.
The guidance system in the shield will ensure that the two missiles collide within a matter of seconds, thereby saving vital targets from destruction. He said, the missile is absolutely imperative for India for protecting highly populated metros and vital installations like oil wells and nuclear power stations.Courtsey : AIR
