Chandigarh: July 23, 2009 : A training program on Quality Control and Aviation Fuel Handling Procedures was conducted by Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), at 12 Wing, Air Force , Chandigarh today where as many as 45 Officers and personnel of Indian Air Force attended the training, those are handling aviation fuels in day to day flying activities of Air Force.
The training program was inaugurated by Air Commodore S R K Nair, Air Officer Commanding, No 12 Wing Air Force in the presence of Mr Rajesh, General Manager (Aviation), Northern Region, Indian Oil and the senior officials of Indian Air Force and IndianOil.
Air Cmde Nair , highlighted the expertise of IndianOil in handling aviation fuels. Bestowing his trust, he said IndianOil is the best fuel partner who had a vast experience in handling of various types of fuels. Congratulating Indian Oil on completion of 50 Golden Years, he said the corporation is a promising fuel supplier to the country. He also urged IOC for conducting on job training for the personnel of Air Force towards handling the Aviation fuel.
Sri Rajesh S, General Manager (Aviation) Northern Region in his address said that IndianOil and Indian Air Force have a long-standing association and IndianOil has always been there for the Indian Air Force. He said that IndianOil is the leader in the Aviation fuel business in the country and that while we have the largest market share of 64.6% in the aviation fuel business in India, our leadership status stems from achieving global benchmark standards in our Operations and Service. He added that our safety and quality practices are also benchmark to global standards. The quality of aviation fuel, he said plays a very critical role in Aviation Operation and ensures flight safety as well. He added that IndianOil is in process to implement Hydrant Refulling system at Chandigarh Air Force Station.
