Chandigarh, October 12:Information Technology is helping pharma companies to combat diseases by fostering clinical trials, said Maneet Singh, Director of ADI Backoffice Professionals, an Indian KPO, today, while addressing the students of Anovus Institute of Clinical Research (AICR).
The advent of Information Technology has expedited the process of launching a new drug, conduct clinical trials and also led to a reduction in the cost of drug discovery, highlighted Mr. Singh, while enumerating the role of IT in facilitating drug discovery.
In order to satiate the curiosity of students, Mr. Singh made a comprehensive presentation on the nuances of the Clinical Research Profession and explained the concept of Insilico drug designing in detail.
Throwing light on the major challenge faced by the rapidly growing Clinical Trials industry in India, he said that India still lags behind China in terms of quality delivered.
However, he expressed faith in the emerging clinical professionals, who, by delivering quality services, could help India in emerging as a frontrunner in the field of Clinical Research, making it the first choice of Pharmaceutical companies in the West.
While interacting with the students, Dr. Rajesh Sehgal, Head R&D, Venus Medicine Research Centre, emphasized that knowledge, hard work and positive attitude are the key ingredients which can determine the success of a clinical research professional.
Dr. Sehgal stressed that the rapidly expanding clinical research market presents umpteen career opportunities for clinical researchers not only in the area of clinical trials but also in related areas like Medical Writing and Information Technology.
