By Jagpreet Sandhu,Chandigarh, Febuary 6 :The 12th edition of India’s Largest Travel & Tourism Mart chain, ITM Chandigarh, organized by India Travel Mart, drew to a close on Sunday at the Himachal Bhawan.
India’s leading International Travel & Tourism Exhibition India Travel Mart (ITM) got overwhelming response from Chandigarh and nearby cities like Mohali, Panchkula, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Amritsar and other parts of Punjab and Haryana. Visitors were attracted by large number of domestic and international tour packages and hotel packages. Domestic Travelers also got attractive and discounted packages for their Summer Holidays / Vacations and Weekend Getaways.
Tourism Malaysia gets Best Outbound Tourism Destination Award, Amazing Thailand gets Best Outbound Destination Presentation Award, Dubai Tourism (DTCM) – Best Outbound Destination Promotion Award, Gujarat Tourism – Best Tourism Destination Award, Rajasthan – Best Tourism Destination Promotion Award, Goa Tourism – Best Tourism Destination Presentation Award, Himachal Pradesh Tourism – Best Tourism Destination Attraction Award, Jharkhand Tourism – Best Eco-Friendly Tourism Award, Maharashtra Tourism – Best Tourism Destination Potential Award, Make My Trip : Best Online Tourism Promotion Award and Olivea Travel Redefined – Best Innovative and Unique Tourism Product have been awarded for outstanding performance in tourism.
There were special holiday packages and other gifts been given out to visitors at the lucky draw contest. ”We really enjoyed visiting the exhibition and got to know numerous and ideal holiday destinations as we were looking forward to visit some for the summer holidays” the winner of the lucky draw contest said.
Mr Achinto Bose, Marketing Manager, Tourism Malaysia said, Malaysia is getting response among the top 5 outbound destinations in India due to Malaysia being cheaper than other expensive destinations. People are more interested for honeymoon packages and family tours to Malaysia. Many families have shown their interest in Summer Holiday Packages also.
Vaishali Sharma, Amazing Thailand said that the ITM event is most successful in Chandigarh this year as compared to the previous years. We hope that next year ITM will come in a bigger way to promote Thailand as one of the favourite tourist destination for North Indians.
Mr Kunal Pawar, Dubai Tourism (DTCM) Stall, said: “We are in Chandigarh for promotion of our various tourist destinations for the residents of Chandigarh. We are also organizing International State Fairs in the forthcoming months. We are happy to have come here and exhibited because we have made so much progress in terms of business contacts and real contracts.”
