Bhopal, Sep. 11- ‘To cool the food prices, the ban on the exports is not necessary and sufficient condition. The flow of the river inflation cannot be slowed down (impossible to stop) without political will and good governance which means SMART( Simple, Moral, Action Oriented, Responsive and Transparent) and SIMPLE( Spirituality, Intuition, Mental development, Physical development, Love your soul attitude and above all Emotional Quotient development). Politicians ( both in power and opposition) needs to be faithful to the intentions of the will of the people who have voted them. To move with confidence for morality, opulence, victory and empowerment (MOVE), we need to understand spirituality as spirit to know actuality of the science of soul.’ opined Dr. M.M. Goel, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences & Professor of Economics, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra with tears in the eyes on the sorry state of affairs with empathy and not sympathy with the Government and growers of onion, potato and tomato. He is here in connection with a meeting in the UGC central regional office. We need concrete plan of action starting from the diagnosis, measurement and policy instruments for controlling inflation which has crossed Lakshman Rekha (tolerance levels), believes Professor Goel
There is a strong case for the announcement of minimum support price (MSP) of onion, potato and tomato (the basket of essential goods) by the Commission on Agricultural Costs and Prices (CACP) for motivation of the farmers to bridge the gap between demand and supply. Further, it needs to be enhanced in tune with the prevailing rate of inflation as a policy for all times to come. We need to create a storage capacity with the farmers instead of Food Corporation of India (FCI) which has proved to be villain with built in corruption, said Professor Goel.
There is a need for monitoring inflation by independent economists out of Delhi darbar who can dare to call a spade a spade on the face of politicians (both in power and opposition). Future trading for essential food items (Wheat, rice, onion, potato and tomato) is sad if not bad for the Indian consumers. Balancing the interests of the farmers and consumers deserve cooperation, coordination and connectedness ( 3Cs ) with higher emotional quotient including patience, told Professor Goel.
DEAR PROFESSOR GOEL,
ALL YOUR QUOTES ARE MOST VALUABLE BUT DO NOT EXPECT THAT OUR POLITICIANS & BUREAUCRATS SHALL WORK ON THESE GUIDE LINES.
NOW THIS NATION HAS REACHED TO THE VERGE OF POLITICAL COLLAPSE & IT IS FEARED THAT IT MAY NOT BE TAKEN OVER BY CHINA, COUPLED WITH PAKISTAN IN THE COMING DAYS, BECAUSE OUR LEADERS HAVE NOTHING IN THEIR KITTY EXCEPT FALSE PROMISES & PRO-PREPARED SPEECHES, SUFFICIENT ENOUGH TO MISLEAD THE PEOPLE OF THIS COUNTRY OF SIMPLETONS INDEED—dr.amritgaur
