Chandigarh-Sept 7- Japan’s leading company in auto components sector namely Aisin Seiki Co. Ltd. has shown keen interest in setting up their manufacturing facility for automotive components at IMT Rohtak in Haryana over an area of 30 acres, with project investment of Rs. 406 crores.
Executive Vice President of Aisin Seiki Co. Ltd., Mr. Masuji Arai, who held a meeting with Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda on the concluding day of the India-Japan Global Partnership Summit in Tokyo today said that company also proposed to set up another manufacturing facility for brake parts at an estimated cost of Rs. 330 crores for which they would require 20 acres of land. Aisin Seiki Co. Ltd. is engaged in manufacture and sale of automotive parts like drive train, body, brake and chassis, engine, information related; lifestyle and energy related products, sewing machines, beds and GHPs and welfare related products.
The meeting was held on the sideline of the India-Japan Global Partnership Summit between the Chief Minister and senior officers of Tokyo Metropolitan Government, which was led by Mr. Masao Nakayama, Senior Director, International Affairs. Mr. Chhatar Singh, Principal Secretary to Haryana Chief Minister and Mr. Rajeev Arora, Managing Director Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation were also present in the meeting.
During the meeting the Japanese side expressed keen interest in supporting basic infrastructure of projects in the State.
Haryana Chief Minster emphasized on developing drinking water projects and public transport system projects in collaboration with the Japan. Smart City pilot project is already being conceptualization in the state and the Japanese side could consider taking part in the pilot project initiative. Further, it was decided that Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister would be the nodal officer for taking forward the initiatives with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
The India-Japan Global Partnership Summit concluded with enhanced and deepened partnership between the two sides. The concluding session saw deliberation on setting up the agenda for the next steps in the Japan-India Relations, which was also addressed by Mr. Randeep Singh Surjewala, Industries and Commerce Minister Haryana. He emphasized the need for further strengthening of ties between India and Japan.
The event also witnessed signing of several other MOUs between enterprises based in Haryana and some prominent Japanese companies for technical collaborations. Three MOUs were signed by Mr. Navin Raheja of Raheja Developers with Zenrin Co.-Abacus Venture Solutions for geospatial modeling; Okamura Homes Co. for setting up residential project at Dharuhera; Abacus Venture Solutions-Quantum Leaps Co. for development of ‘smart cities’.
Another MOU was signed between the Indian company – Guruvantage – a unit of A2V Infosolutions Pvt. Limited, Gurgaon, and Cicom Brains Inc. from Japan. These companies are among leading companies in the cross-country skill development space in their respective countries. Guruvantage and Cicom envisages a huge surge in skills demand in the coming years.
A MOU was also signed in pharma sector by Mr. Pranav Gupta of Parabolic Drugs with Kyodo International Corporation of Japan.
