Panchkula, November 22, 2015 : Your child is not a robot to abide all commands. Respect the generation. All we need is to reconstruct the living habit and change the parenting technique for the betterment to bringing up a child. This was stated by India’s noted clinical psychologist, child behavior and parenting expert Dr. Aruna Broota while interacting with parents and their wards at a session of Good Parenting organized today at The Sky World School, Sector 21, Panchkula. This session was aimed to enlighten the parents with the positive parenting styles and to guide them to understand the emotional needs of the child. Over 400 parents with their wards were benefited from the session. “Parenting is hard work. No matter what your profession is, being a parent is one’s most rewarding job and a beautiful phase of life, so deal it responsibly and sensibly. Being a parent isn’t easy, but applying helpful hints and practical advice of parenting one can become a more confident parent and raise children happy, healthy and independent” said Broota with her experience of 40 years tried to bridge the gap between parents and children.
“The beauty of the Indian system is their family and their bonding within over the years. But the surveys and statistics which has done after the 1985 has declared that majority of the success in the child’s overall development growth happened only in nuclear family not in joint family.” revealed Dr. Broota
She profoundly discussed childrens’ affairs, their learning experiences and diversity. She highlighted a number of experiences to show how a child‘s psyche gets affected with the behavior of parents, role of media and relationship between parents. Quoting real life instances, she enlightened parents about child psychology, different phases of development of a child etc. and gave her views as to how to acclimatize children to new surroundings preparing them to take on a new world of academic challenges.
During her three hour long session, she devised common practices and innovations to help everyone in the children support ecosystem. Staying proactively intelligent, using common sense and appealing tactics, better self management that strengthens relationship between child and parent were some key initiatives that Dr. Broota talked about. She helped parents, family elders in appreciating their key role in understanding anxieties of children and preparing the ground for building their future. The session went quite successful with hundreds of young parents felt delighted and emotional while sharing their own experiences with Dr. Broota.
