Kurukshetra, Dec.23 -, ‘To climb on the ladder of success in ‘ Make in India’ mission, we need to increase return on training investment (ROTI) for skills among youth, said Dr. M. M. Goel, Professor of Economics & Former Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences & Former Chairman, Dept. of Economics, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. He was addressing the members of the Senior Citizens Welfare Association today on the topic “Issues and Rationale of Good Governance in Indian Economy”.
For proving Incredible India as independent, non violent, democracy with integrity and amity, we have to adopt spiritual economics which promote ‘needonomics’ confining to needs and no to greed, believes Professor Goel.
To become global guru of good governance, we have to change our looks, actions and words (LAW). This calls for adopting SMART & SIMPLE models in the book ‘Economics of Human Resource Development in India’(2011). SMART means simple, moral, action oriented, responsive and transparent management more than administration, told Professor Goel.
We need to identify obstacles in the path of progress including holiday culture, built-in- corruption and caste-ism which calls for increasing working days with no payment for the so called paid overtime, believes Professor Goel.
The incidence of crime against women are not much a law and order problem but the socio-economic problem which can be solved by adopting values moral more than economic. Sadly, the old values are changing and the new values have not yet emerged for the Indian youth who behave indecently. On the one hand, we claim India moving forward, on the other backward in terms of polluted behaviour, told Professor Goel.
Earlier Advocate D.P. Sharma, Secretary Senior Citizens Welfare Association introduced and welcomed Professor Goel.
