By MARIELA GOVEA * : 25 November, according to the United Nations, it s the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. According to statistics, all around the world, one of three women suffer some kind of aggression, physical or psychological and even have Violent marriages and Violent families.
Half of the victims remain silent, due to a number of factors, mainly because they are afraid of punishment, or else they don´t have where to live and then, they would become homeless. There are also another factors that keep women silent such as lack of eduction, lack of job opportunities, lack of money, and the constant fear of being abandoned with their children.
Another of the factors that counts, is the fact that Violence against Women cannot stop because as girls they were not empowered when they were children in their early days, and another reality is that even though there are lots of organizations working against Violence, it still scarce the information available about their rights, there are still few networks and places to help victims, -victim is a word I don´t like , but unfortunalely, when someone is systematically attacked, the person turns into a victim of Violence of Genre.
Círculo Latinoamericano de Sexualidad Femenina,-Latin American Circle of Sexual Femeneity, the organization I preside repudiates all kinds of Violence, not only against women-also, also Violence against Men, and Violence against animals, we believe in Pacifism.
Our Circle repudiates Violence and Violence against Women and our Genre, today and every day of the year.
Violence against Women is one of the biggest punishment in life against us . We should be loved and respected also as mothers, workers, artists, executives or whatever our job is.
Something I want to remark is that we women have the capability to give birth, not only to children, but also to ourselves, in times of crisis and troubles.
We Women should be venerated as Gods we are, all of us are also Shakti and Lakshmi, among other deities, who inspires us in our daily occupations every day of our lives.
