Dr.Avnish Jolly :Many books have been written to understand the Hindu way of meditation. The subject is so vast and difficult that it is not easy for a common man to grasp. Quite a few theories have been available since centuries but each theory has left the common seeker in perplexity.
The recent most theory is the one given by Dr.Naresh, who says that spiritualism is not metaphysics but physics. He calls it science and offers a scientific way for salvation. Dr.Naresh has summed up the perplex subject with such an ease and in such a simple language that one is astounded on his clarity and command over the language. In Dr.Naresh’s books entitled ‘Jab Jage Tab Bhor’, ‘Kasturi Kundal Base’ and ‘Adhyatama Satsayi’, it is not hard or confusing to comprehend the subject of spiritualism.
Dr.Naresh gives no new name to his theory, but his fivefold classification of men and women of the universe and his rearrangement of the seven skies into five is a new assertion. According to him, there are five kinds of men and women. These are normal mundane human beings, aware persons/seekers, devoted souls, masters and lost in Him. Similarly, he rearranges the skies as Bhooloka, Aakash, Mritaloka, Siddhaloka and Brahmloka.
According to Dr.Naresh, each human being has within him or her the divine part called soul. Each soul has a craving to return to its basic form. But the soul can travel out of the body only when the Guru adds his own aerial energy to the basic energy of the seeker’s physical body.
Once the seeker is able to find a Guru, his meditational journey starts. Through meditation, his soul takes a flight out of his body and passing through the seven skies or five lokas, reaches the other end of the cosmos to embrace the Supreme Divine.
Dr.Naresh, in contrast to many others, does not subscribe to the theory of renunciation. He instead calls for a simultaneous performing of dual duties. His assertion is that one cannot achieve salvation by neglecting one’s mundane duties.
The science behind Dr.Naresh’s theory of spiritualism is that the basic energy of a physical body can be awakened through mantra shakti, that is, the power of incantations with the supportive additional energy, received from the Guru, who channelises the energy in the right direction and supervises the soul’s flight till it completes its journey through sustained meditation and reaches the place from where it has come to the earth to live in a physical body.
Dr.Naresh’s books may not be the last work on spiritualism but they do clear away the fog of confusion that had engulfed the subject for such a long time. He makes no tall claim about the innovation of this theory. He, in all humility, calls it an extension of the path discovered by Rishi Vashishta and illuminated by Saint Kabir.
Another contribution of Dr.Naresh in this content is his sincere effort to highlight the affinity between Hindu way of meditation and that of the Sufis. Dr.Naresh successfully brings out the similarities in the two methods and puts forward a universal approach understanding the Indian spiritual science.
I always used to wonder if God exists in actuality or not and to satisfy this urge of mine, i took to the study of spiritualism some years back. But the clarification I have got from this article, I could not get from any of the books. I request Dr.Avnish if he can provide me with the address and contact no. of Dr.Naresh ji and also if he has any idea where his books on spiritualism will be available.
