After the victory, came the victory celebration. And it was just as memorable. The Wave Punjab Marshalls finally overturned adversity to record a massive 29-18 win over Delhi in the Champions Tennis League on November 21. The team’s owners, Gurpreet Singh and Kudrat Tamber, then hosted a party like only Punjabis can!
Drinks and conversations flowed abundantly as the Marshalls and their supporters partied well into the night.
The two star players for the Marshalls, Leander Paes and Garbine Muguruza, did a star turn on the dance floor as well. India’s ageless wonder, Paes, looking dapper in a metallic blue two-piece suit, showed a natural sense of rhythm as he danced the night away.
But it was the team ‘Latina’, Muguruza who was the show stealer. Born to a Spanish father and Venezuelan mother, the gene genie has blessed the rising tennis star with two right feet. Muguruza reveled in the all the attention showered on her and obliged every picture request.
The evening that also saw youngsters Rishika Sunkara and Vidit Vaghela shake a leg with the more accomplished tennis stars, perfectly captured the spirit of the team and the competition: play hard, party harder.
