Darwinism is applicable in every field of modern life. There is competition to become fittest, causing tremendous load on the body and mind leading to accommodative physiological as well as psychological changes.
Latest studies in the field of modern medical science suggest that most of the diseases like cancer, hypertension, diabetes and obesity are caused due to increased stress. Increase in the rate of metabolism of body to counter the stress, generates free radicals. Sustained production of free radicals may cause the alteration in the genetic constitution of individual leading to uncontrolled growth of cells. This condition leads to variety of metabolic disorders including the cancer.
In this mad competitive world, we are bound to overwork and put ourselves to different kinds of stress. So, it becomes very important to keep stress away from the mind and to stop needless thinking. The technique, which can teach the secrets of stress-free living, should be the best treatment. Meditation is such a technique. Meditation cuts the root cause of disease by purifying the mind and stop further physical deterioration. Various techniques of meditation purify the mind; strengthen our nervous system, thus, changing our attitude towards life and in the long run, inducing a healthy style of living.
