By Shikha Gupta , Punjab :- I Shikha , an ordinary girl who has dreams in her eyes. This time I am sharing very special part of my life with the readers. It’s very spontaneous feeling that when we are in college, we want to touch the sky. We view this world as a very easy task but in reality it is tough and hard. As I completed my post graduation, I wanted to achieve my goals. Whenever I saw poor people, I was so hurt to see their pathetic condition. I decided to do welfare for them. But I did not know the proper way to do all this. During this period I met someone on net.
His name is Vijender Singh, Mechanical Engineer by profession. In the beginning we were very good friends and shared our day to day life with each other. We began to date each other gradually. I saw in his eyes passion for me. Both of us don’t know when we fall in love. He knew all about my dreams, my aspirations. He decided to lead my career towards the right direction. We surfed on net for ngo’s where I can get experience of the social working. Finally, we got one non govt. organization. They selected me as volunteer and gave me a chance to work with them. This is the moment when my dream was just about to come true. People say that it is hard to struggle with the world but I can say that it is more difficult to oppose your family instead of the world. My family was not agreed with my profession. They wanted me to do something better in life on the basis of my qualification. They stopped interaction with me. No one was getting my point. That time I had support of only Vijender who guided me a lot. He always encouraged me. He made me understand one thing in life that if you don’t get opportunity then creates it. If people are against of you, give your best without caring of results. I set his thoughts as my principles of my struggle.
Today, with his support I am running my own ngo named Women and Children Welfare Society. I was not too much confident on my decision before but it can only be possible because he had trust in me. Now, I headed many art and craft workshops for poor children and vocational courses for deprived women. Even now I am working hard to give our society a new image.
This article is the form of thanksgiving to my friend who always motivates, guide and support me. This is true that your thousands friends cannot do any favor for you if they are not supportive but your one true friend can change your entire life. I am very lucky to have this loving friend in my life. I hope you will also find someone in your life as I found.
