By Amrik Singh Kanda : One of them had eyes and the others were blind. All of them were not blind from their birth. They had been given orders not to see anything. They had to simply go on doing their duty.
‘Think in your mind, what is happening in this mortal world. Do your duty, you will find the fruit also. Recite the Name of God, Rabb, Allah, Bhagwan. This birth is given to us with great difficulty.Rememher Him. Dedicate this body to Him.’ This discourse had been given by the eyed man to the blind men.
When their children grew up they had a wonderful knowledge about their country. The elders departed ultimately but the lineage of the blind continued. They learnt a lot in accordance with the times, like
overcoming fire, cold, heat, etc. Generation after generation came and went. But no change took place.
Change came in things and belongings and in discoveries. But their thinking remained as it was. If they were in trouble, some of them, who considered themselves as wise men, sat together and got out of it. Their number increased to lakhs. It was but natural that they should have different faiths, communities, castes and groups, who made someone their own Guru. The lineage of the eyed one had eyes. The Gurus were needed.
‘No knowledge without a Guru.’ The population grew to crores.
The blind felt it difficult to eke out a living, to find food and shelter. Everyone felt a burden in his mind. The eyed ones constituted government for the people so that the people should not suffer in any way. The eyed gurus gave discourses to the blind. ‘Live by honest earning. Keep away from meat, wine and beautiful women.’ Which guru would like his disciple to make use of intoxicants? The eyed ones had an abundance of goddesses, gurus and gurumas. There were millions of devotees and millions of eyed people. But the blind remained blind. The eyed ones showed them how to live. Make donations and go to heaven. Gradually the blind began to give donations to the eyed ones. Money, cars, motors, scooters, fridges, air-conditioners, plots, bungalows and some even donated their children. It is said that guru’s greatness is beyond description. The eyed one too departed from the world. The gurus’ spiritual seats continued in succession.
One day a blind girl said- ‘Dad I can see now.’ The father told his guru about this. The
guru said-
‘Doesn’t matter. She would be cured. Trust in God. Leave her
with me,’ said the guru.
Then many girls began to see.
‘We can see everything.’
‘No cause for worry. They all have caught the disease. I will perform a small operation. We will take out their eyes. They will become normal. God will do well.’
‘Will they fully recover?’ asked the blind man.
‘They will be like ordinary people.’
The girls came to know of this. The girls saw their faces in the mirror. If their eyes are taken out, they would become ugly. They were terrified.
‘No….no….we cannot see anything, guruji.’
They were not seeing but feeling.
