Dr. Avnish Jolly,7 June:Apple a day keeps a doctor away, if doctor is handsome / beautiful keep an apple away. Still it’s an individual choice but adding leafy green vegetables, juices or fruit (made from apples or purple grapes) in diet helps to prevent clogged arteries. Purple grape juice was the most potent, followed by purple grapes, apple juice, and apples. Other antioxidants, such as vitamin C and carotenoids may also contribute to their overall effect People who were fed grape juice had the lowest risk of developing artery problems.
Benefits came from the fruits’ high levels of phenols, a potent antioxidant. Antioxidants in various foods are already known to be beneficial to heart health. In this case, the research team wanted to see how juicing affected the phenol content, because most studies have looked at raw fruit. Protein nutritional types need to be careful about eating too much fruit. Fruits should be consumed cautiously if one has the above conditions; freshly squeezed fruit juice has about eight full teaspoons of sugar per eight-ounce glass so you need to be extra careful with juice. Commercial pasteurized juices sweetened with added sugar or artificial sweeteners should be avoided as they have very little nutritional value.
Whether fruits are good for health depends on several factors including:
• Current state of health
• Nutritional type
• Type of fruit
The health benefits of both grapes and apples have been studied and confirmed, however too much fruit juice is not good, because the juice is so high in sugar and vitamin C it can cause problems if consumed in high quantities. Fruit juice experienced several health benefits, including:

My husband recently had a heart attack (1 blocked coronary artery) and large blood clot in his calf. They’ve put him on coumadin (warfarin). He’s physically fit – not overweight or couch potato. We love green leafy
vegetables but they are very high in vitamin K, which works against coumadin. Is there any way to get the
great benefits of green leafies while on coumadin?
