27 May : In a Request Letter given by The Residents of Siddhivinayak Marg, Bhayander west to the MBMC, The Residents have informed them to provide Basic Civic Amenities Like Adequate Drinking water. And before Monsoon starts, Proper Drainage (Gutter) system to be provided to them, the Residents have warned that if they are not provided with basic Civic Amenities properly they will not pay any taxes. Its to be noted that in Bhayander west there is a persisting Problem of Drinking water Supply due to which the citizens are going through various hardships, The water Department of the MBMC has assured to look in to the problem and have deputed a Engineer for a survey regarding the problem immediately.
The Chairman of Siddhivinayak Marg Residents Association Mr.N.S.Rawat said that from approx 8 years the water supply line of the area is of 8 inches ( 4 inches )at the end of the road, whereas the population of the area has doubled up from approx 3000 to 6000, where there were only 15 buildings in the area there are more than 40 buildings which have come up but the water line to cater them is the same old, due to which the supply of water is not adequate, and we have requested them to increase the size of the water line or add more lines to our area on which the Officer of the water Department Mr.Nanegaonkar has assured to get a survey conducted for the same.
According to the President of the Association Mr. Pradeep Bhatia, Actually the entire Mira – Bhayander Area does not have basic Infrastructure in place of drainage and sewerage the drain water lines (Gutters) are ages old, and there is no sewerage line. The Gutters also act as sewerage line and are choked up entire year as there is no down flow in them and during rainy season every year the water from the gutters overflows and the entire areas are clogged with dirty water which is a potential Health hazard and open invitation to Diseases. Funds are already allotted from the Central and State Governments a year back but till now the only progress done by the MBMC is appointment of Surveyor for the sewerage line. If before Monsoon the drainage and sewerage problems are not looked in to immediately the area will be again flooded like so many years again, To add to the woes of the problem The city doesn’t have a City Engineer for it!!
As per Mr.O.P.Singh the Secretary of the Association, the MBMC officers avoid providing any information to the citizens and when they try to meet the Commissioner Mr.Shivmurti Naik they are shooed off, whereas the P.A to the Commissioner of the MBMC Mr.Godse shockingly compares the flooding problem directly with 26th July deluge stating if a City like Mumbai can get Submerged then what is Mira Bhayander!!
The Association has urged the MBMC Commissioner to directly look in to the matter and resolve a persisting problem fast or else the only resort left with them will be not pay any taxes to MBMC, which has been giving them a step motherly treatment.
This article is about Mira Bhayander area in Thane, Maharastra, where development is on full scale, but it lacks basic Civic Infrastructure i.e. Sewerage lines,Proper Drainage system,And the worst the city doesnt have a City Engineer for it.A letter has been already given to the Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation but there has been no response from him.Copy of the letter is enclosed.

There is always a problem in Mira Bhayander area for water shortage as the entire tanker mafia runs hand & glove with the Municipal corporation, when, which area less water should be given so that the tanker water can be sold and commission be received from the seller is the only thought they have, adhoc filling of lands, there is no barring on height of raising land before building them, even if later they start the work of the sewerage line there is going to be further problem as they have not kept any check on how the buildings were made, the only thing the officials in Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation are bothered are where can they get money from a common man,i am a resident in uttan here the conditions are similar, even if file RTI’s they dont reply , they have made a mockery of our judicial system where the Commissioners own PA is residing in a illegal building which had a stay order what else do you expect him to reply. the only solution to our problems will be when the central government looks in to this problem.till that time they will continue to rob citizens of there rights
