Darren Roland Rosario : Mumbai :- We celebrate 5th september as teachers day it is a mark of tribute to the contribution of the teachers to the society . 5th september is also the birthday of a great teacher dr. Sarvapalli radhakrishnan’s birthday, who was a staunch believer of education, and was well known as a diplomat , scholar, president of india and above all a teacher . When dr sarvapalli radhakrishnan became the president of india in 1962 some of his students and friends approached and requested him to allow them to celebrate 5th september, his birthday. In reply dr sarvapalli radhakrishnan said instead of celebrating his birthday seperately it would have been a privelige for him if this day would be observed and celebrated as teachers day. This request showed dr sarvapalli radhakrishnan love for his teaching profession.
Teachers mold the lives that they influence because the lessons learned from teachers remain with their students throughout life . We should always respect our teachers. Teachers need encouragement and support from the community to feel that their devotion to students is appreciated. In india teacher day is celebrated in every school .teachers day is a day where students and teachers look forward for . Yes for teachers day it is a kind of a day off for them, and for student they get a chance to put up programes for their teachers if you ask me how teachers day is celebrated in my school then the teachers day begins with the students wishing all their teachers a happy teachers day and handing over the teachers a teachers day cards and flowers. Following it the students also put up dances , small prayer services skits and much more . The experience with my teachers were really great as in they were very helpful and were the best conselours for me .

Going off of the previous coemmnt discussion, how do you feel about a very shy, introverted student attempting to get the same sort of information from a teacher as an open and outgoing one? I myself am not a very good speaker, and am very introverted to say the least. In fact, I have some major social phobias which have led me to skipping classes altogether for fear of being called on. For some people this makes sense if you are unprepared, but I typically am up on all my work to the best of my abilities. In response to your video, do you agree with how school systems function with normal test procedures? I find studying specifically for a test is rather self-defeating to actually learning something. If everything not on the test is thrown aside, and a person is really only studying for a good grade, then nothing is really be learned (and more importantly, retained).
