7th February 2013 : Kenya Tourism Board recently launched the online training programme, ‘Magical Kenya Expert in the 20th edition of SATTE, New Delhi. This remained the highlight of the event for the entire Kenyan delegation and the travel trade of India at SATTE New Delhi. The training programme was a great success and it received approximately 200 registrations within 24 hours of the launch.
Mr. John Chirchir, Manager Marketing, Emerging Markets Kenya Tourism Board along with 13 private participants showcased their product line for Indian market. India is becoming more and more important source of market for outbound tourism with a steady upward graph for year on year. The stall was visited by over 300 travel agents, tour operators and wedding planners with diversified queries. Where some of them were looking for educational Safari tours, some were looking for high end vacation options. CNN Travel has recently named Watamu and Diani among the 25 Top Beach destinations in Africa. The pavilion had a great ambience and an attractive look keeping in sync with the product offerings.
The SATTE 2013 was followed by the three city roadshows at Kolkata, Hydrebad and Chennai on 22nd, 23rd and 24th January 2013 respectively along with 18 private Kenyan trade delegates. This was the 1st ever roadshow of destination Kenya in Chennai & Hyderabad. Also during this event 3 Indian Trade won I-pad mini in a lucky draw. Kenya Tourism Board had received an immensely warm welcome from the Indian Travel Trade Fraternity in all cities.
