Manmohan Singh arrives in US; will discuss on Nuke deal, Pak, terrorism with Obama

23 Nov : Implementation of the landmark civil nuclear deal, the situation in Pakistan and terrorism emanating from there would be high on the agenda as Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and President Barack Obama meet in Washington for talks during which they are expected to give a major push to the Indo-US strategic ties.
The two countries will sign a number of pacts, including an MoU on Counter-Terrorism to provide a legal framework for stepped up cooperation against the menace, and discuss the problem of climate change ahead of the Copenhagen …

India signs fusion energy research pact with European Union

6 Nov : India and the 27-nation European Union (EU) have signed an agreement for cooperation in the field of Fusion Energy Research and agreed over the free trade treaty by next year to boost trade and investment.

Addressing the Summit organised at Hyderabad House in the capital, Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh said that the agreement underlines the growing importance of energy security and clean energy in our co-operation.
Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt and European Commission President Jose Manuel Borosso were also present at the summit.

October 28, 2009: Today, in a meeting of peace lovers and volunteers of Yuvsatta, participants expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Pawan Kumar Bansal, Union Cabinet Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Government of India, for forwarding their request and personally writing to SM Krishna, Cabinet Minister of External Affairs for visa-free travel of children from India and Pakistan.

This biggest peace prize would be presented to Obama in Norway on 10th December later this year. This prize contains an amount of $1.5 million besides the medal.
