Chandigarh, June 16: The Haryana Government has decided to name the Tejli Sports Complex, Yamunanagar after the name of former minister and sports lover, late Rajesh Sharma.
While announcing this here today, Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda said that Mr. Rajesh Sharma was the son of first Chief Minister of Haryana, Pt.Bhagwat Dayal Sharma. He said that the PGIMER, Rohtak had been named after Pt. Bhagwat Dayal Sharma and now it has been decided to upgrade this prestigious medical institution to that of Medical University.
Mr. Hooda said that great personalities did not belong to any caste or communities rather they remains a source of inspiration for the generations to come. He said that the decision to name the sports complex after the name of Rajesh Sharma was taken so that the budding sportspersons could derive inspiration from his life sketch.
He said that Mr. Sharma was a leader of above board honesty and having a good image.He said that he was a great visionary and had great contribution in the development of Yamunanagar district as he had a great love for Yamunanagar. He remained MLA from Yamunanagar and a minister in the Haryana Cabinet, he added.
Mr.Hooda reminded that said that the foundation stone of the Tejli Sports Complex was laid during his tenure as Minister and the contribution of Mr. Sharma in developing Tejli Sports complex could not be forgotten and this was the only reason that the government had decided to name the sports complex to make his cherished memory everlasting and perpetual.
