CHANDIGARH, OCT 23 :Satluj Public School of Panchkula defeated St Isher Singh Public School of Mohali by 5-4 on penalties in the second round match of the CBSE Cluster XIII Football Tournament being organized by St Soldier International School, Sector 28 here today.
The regulation period failed to produce any goal and the tie-breaker rule was applied to break the deadlock. Gurpreet, Adhish, Paramjeet, Tanveer and Gurpreet Sohal converted their spot kicks for Satluj Public School. Davinderdeep, Amrinder, Satveer and Viswash converted the penalties for St Isher Singh School.
Durga Public School of Solan ousted Shivalik Public School, Sector 41, Chandigarh by 2-0. Satish and Krishna scored in the 25th and 35th minutes.
Spring Field Public School, Ambala disposed of the challenge of Jodhamal Public School of Jammu by 4-2 in the tie-breaker session. After a goalless draw, Apiwat, Sandeep, France Peempol and Suhjeet converted their spot kicks for Spring Field. Pardeep and Rashi were the only players of the Jammu school to score on penalties.
Hosts St Soldier International, Sector 28 maintained their winning spree by beating Guru Nanak Mission School, Paonta Sahib by 2-0. Abhijeet Kataria (25th) and Anuj Yadav (40th) contributed one goal each.
Delhi Public School of Srinagar routed St Soldier of Mohali by 4-0 Qaiser (5th), Suhail (25th), Raja Musharaf (35th) and Syed Ausaf (8th) were the winners’ goal-getters.
