CHANDIGARH, SEPT 22 : Resuming at overnight 36 for 4, the Patiala batsmen continued their poor run with the bat and were bundled out for 68 in 31.3 overs by Ludhiana in the Punjab Inter-District Cricket Tournament for Katoch Shield in Patiala today.
Medium Pacer Amritpal Singh (5 for 30) and left arm medium pacer Deepak Bansal (4 for 28) snuffed out the life from the Patiala batting lineup. At one stage Patiala were 45 for 9 and a tenth wicket stand of 23 runs between Rajwinder Singh (12) and Sarabjit Singh Ladda (11) not out revived the innings to some extent.
Replying Ludhiana were 53 for 2 in 23.1 overs at close of second day’s play. Akhil Aggarwal unbeaten (19) and Karan Goel unbeaten (10) were together . Sandeep Sharma (1 for 19) was the only successful bowler for Patiala

MOHALI SLUMP TO 246 FOR 8: In the second match played at YPS Mohali between Mohali and Chandigarh, Mohali batting first were 246 for 8 at close of 2nd day’s play. The first day’s play had been rained off. Today the match also started late after lunch. Opener Sunny Sohal (91 off 159 balls inclusive of 15 boundaries) and skipper Mayank Sidana (79, off 152 balls inclusive of 10 boundaries) were involved in a 3rd wicket stand of 152 runs which was the corner stone of Mohali innings. Off spinner Gaurav Gambhir (3 for 69), Jaskaran 2 for 36, Gurinder Singh (2 for 56) were the main wicket takers for Chandigarh.

JALANDHAR-AMRITSAR TIE EVENLY POISED: Resuming at overnight 236 for 4 Amritsar were bowled out for 292 in 119.1 overs. Navneet Singh went on to complete his century (105) before being caught by wicket keeper Abhishek Gupta off Navdeep Singh.
After Navneet Singh’s dismissal the Amritsar innings fell apart as Shubek Gill 4 for 55 and Navdeep Singh 3 for 49 made in roads into the Amritsar batting line up. Jalandhar started on a shaky note losing two quick wickets of Nitish Sahota (4) and Mandeep Singh Jr. (10) to medium pacer Sunny. Skipper Taruwar Kohli then in company of Himanshu Satyawan steadied the rocking ship of Jalandhar with an unbeaten stand of 122 runs for the 4th wicket.
Taruwar Kohli was unbeaten on 77 off 150 balls with 8 boundaries and Himanshu Satyawan was unbeaten on 65 off 86 balls with 8 boundaries. Jalandhar were 194 for 3 at close of 2nd days play. Sunny 2 for 43 was the most successful bowler for Amritsar.
