CHANDIGARH, SEPT 22 : Mohali skipper Gurkirat Mann celebrated his selection to India A team against West Indies by smashing a run a ball unbeaten century (113) off 116 balls against Chandigarh in the Punjab Inter-District Katoch Shield League match being played at Government College Ground in Ropar.
In his explosive knock Gurkeerat Mann slammed 18 glorious boundaries all-round the wicket. Gurkeerat Mann came in when his team was tottering at 107 for 4. He tore apart the Chandigarh attack to take his team to a pedestal of respectability. Mohali were 264 for 6 in 67 overs in reply to Chandigarh’s 337.
Earlier Chandigarh resuming at 282 for 7 were bowled out for 337 in 103.1 overs. The highlight of the innings was a 40 runs last wicket partnership between VRV Singh (17) and Siuddharth Kaul (20). For Mohali the wickets were shared between Jaskaran Singh (4 for 89), Manpreet Gony (2 for 44) and Varun Khanna (3 for 98)

LUDHIANA ALL OUT FOR 353: Resuming at 245 for 6 Ludhiana were bowled out for 353 in 147.2 overs. The 7th wicket stand between Ankit Pursharthy and Vaibhav Narang realised 99 runs before Vaibhav Narang was caught by substitute Anmol of Yogesh for 59 inclusive of 5 boundaries. Ankit Pursharthy also fell to the guiles of Yogesh as he was stumped by wicket Keeper Sarabjit for a laborious 45 off 169 balls. For Jalandhar Navdeep Singh 5 for 45 and Yogesh Kumar 4 for 104 shared the spoils.
Jalandhar made a spirited reply with opener Abhishek Gupta and Pargat Singh putting on 101 runs in 23.2 overs for the first wicket before Abhishek Gupta was caught by Deepak off Rahul Singla for 57 off 78 balls inclusive of 10 boundaries and one six. Pargat Singh remained unbeaten on 57 off 81 balls with 5 boundaries and one six while Taruwar Kohli was unbeaten on 25 off 18 balls with 3 fours and one six. Jalandhar were 140 for 2 in 30 overs at close of days play. Rahul Singla 2 for 29 was the most successful bowler for Ludhiana.

PATIALA FORCED TO FOLLOW ON: Resuming at 430 for 8 Amritsar were bowled out for 450 in 192.2 overs, Patiala made a sound start putting on 42 runs for the first wicket before Jeevanjot was castled by Ashwani for 13. Thereafter the Patiala innings went down hill as they could not fathom the Amritsar spin attack and were bowled out for 154 in 59.1 overs. Prabhjot Singh 33 and Himanshu Chawla 40 being the main contributors with the bat. For Amritsar Charanjit Singh 3 for 36, Vinay Chaudhary 4 for 40 and Ashwani 3 for 26 did most of damage. Patiala were forced to follow on and were 54 for 1 in 13 overs in their 2nd innings. Kunwar Raina was caught by Arush off Ashwani for 41 off 44 balls with 2 boundaries and four huge sixes.
