CHANDIGARH, DEC 18 : The Chandigarh Golf Association has received 85 entries from 12 countries for the ninth Chandigarh Golfing Tour 2013 which gets under way at the Chandigarh Golf Club greens on December 20.
Giving details of the tournament, CGA president C.S.R. Reddy, IPS, said that 32 golfers from USA, including defending champion Amarjeet Brara, 22 from Canada have staked their claims for the top honours. Twelve golfers are from United Kingdom, eight from Australia, six from Singapore, two from Indonesia and one entry each from Malaysia, France, Bhutan, Brazil, Netherlands and Kuwait.
Also competing in the Golfing Tour will be three lady golfers.
There are eight players with single figure handicap and lowest is Sandeep Singh Grewal with 0 handicap from Australia. Another Australian, Yogeshwar Ghuman plays with a handicap of three.
After the first day’s play the focus will shift to the SEPTA greens in Chandimandir on December 21, with the Panchkula Golf Club being the venue for the final day’s event and the prize distribution ceremony.
The format of play like last year will be stroke play and championship will be decided on the best aggregate score of all the three venues of the game . Prizes have been introduced separately for competitors and invitees and there will be prizes in every day score . Those associating with this event are Tourism Departments of Chandigarh & Travel Agents Association of India.
