CHANDIGARH, OCT 16 : The Chandigarh Football Association will recommend the names of its referees to the All India Football Federation for the Project Future India-2012. Giving this information here today, CFA general secretary Rakesh Bakshi disclosed that the PFI-2012”is to groom the budding referees to professional level through intensive training, exposure and evaluation by experts over a period of two years.:
During this period, the selected batch will be under a dedicated team comprising technical instructor, fitness trainee, visiting nutritionist and sports psychologist. Except for the duration of training and exposure programme (3-4 times a year), they will continue with their academies etc at their own place. All expenses towards travel and stay of the entire selected batch during training and exposures will be borne by AIFF.
Selection process for the PFI-2012 will be held during December 2011 at different locations of the country. Each state can nominate their best referees in the men section (maximum 7, born in 1987 or later), women (maximum three, born in 1985 or later) and maximum three registered class three level or above.
Bakshi said the CFA will conduct workshop for the Chandigarh budding referees and those who qualify in the theory, practice and physical fitness will be recommended to the AIFF for PFI-2012.
