With a haul of six gold medals, Iran lifed the freestyle team championship with a tally of 70 points. Mongolia finished runners-up with 63 points. Kazakshtan and Uzbekistan captured third and fourth places with 51 and 41 points, respectively.
Fighting in the 61 kg freestyle category, Bajneesh Bajrang of India gave a fine performance before surrendering to Masoud Esmael Pour of Iran in the final bout by 11-0. In semi-final bout, the Indian wrestler had outpointed Nazmomdakh Lhamgarmaa of Mongolia by 7-1 and in quarter-final contest Bajrang had accounted for Japanese Noriyuki Takatsuka by 7-4. The Indian wrestler had a final start as he recorded a 7-4 verdict against Korean Seungchul in qualifications.
Satiwart Kadian of India prevailed over Alihan Djumaev of Kazakhstan by criteria, 5-5 , for the bronze medal in the 97 kg freestyle class. Satiwart obtained fourth position.
Amit Kumar Dhakar went down fighting to Japanese Ken Hosaka in the bronze medal contest by 3-6 in the 70 kg category.
Vinesh also missed bronze medal as she went down fighing to Yuimi Lee of Krea by 6-9 in the 48 kg freestyle category bout contest for bronze medal. Vinesh finished fifth.
On the opening day Pooja Dhanda gave Indian their first bronze medal in the women’s 58kg freestyle class. Pooja defeated Lilya Shakirova of Uzbekistan by technical superiority 11-0 to earn a third-place finish.
