Bhopal:Saturday, November 1, 2008:The state government has selected the swimmers for selection to Madhya Pradesh civil services team for representing the state in the All India Civil Service Swimming Competition 2008-09 to be held at Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala from November 18 to 20. For this purpose a camp will be held at Bhopal from November 6 to 15 for the benefit of Madhya Pradesh team members. They include 16 members of men’s team, two reserved veteran swimmers, three reserved swimmers of men’s team and two members of women’s team.
As per directions issued by Secretary Sports Board and Deputy Director, General Administration Department, the camp will be held at Taran Pushkar in the state capital from 10 am. The swimmers taking part in the camp will be deemed to be on official duty. The travel and daily allowances to swimmers coming from outside Bhopal will be payable to them by their respective departments/offices. The swimmers from Bhopal will be sanctioned special leave on the condition of taking part in the conditioning camp imperatively. The finally selected players will also be eligible to receive money for nutritious diet.
The participants must come to the camp making up their mind that if they are selected finally, they will have to move directly to Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala to take part in the competition. Shri S.K. Saxena, personal secretary to Additional Secretary, General Administration Department has been appointed as the manager of the team while its coach will be Shri Harish Shukla, who is the swimming coach of Vikram University, Ujjain.
