INLD chief Mr Om Parkash Chautala, INLD state president, Mr Ashok Arora, INLD secretary general, Mr Ajay Singh Chautala accompanied Prof Sampat Singh. Earlier, led by Mr Om Parkash Chautala, thousands of INLD supporters reached the Mini Secretariat, Hisar in a four-kilometer long procession. INLD supporters were in jubilant & upbeat mood despite the scorching heat and were raising slogans in favour of INLD.
Buoyed by the unprecedented crowd, Mr Chautala attacked Congress party for the inflation & day to day spiraling prices. He said that it has always been matter of record that inflation, corruption, unemployment & black marketing have followed the Congress governments. Prices of all the industrial products always go out of reach for a common-man after the formation of Congress government, be it cement, steel, fertilizers, pesticides or other daily utilities, he added.
Mr Chautala said that the farmers were not getting due remuneration for their farm produce. He condemned the Government’s decision to impose duty of Rs 8,000 per tonne on the export of basmati rice. He said that this decision to impose export duty would ruin the farming community and national loss also as the 98% of the basmati is exported, while only 2% basmati is used in the country.
Mr Chautala criticized Congress president Mrs Sonia Gandhi’s anti farmer attitude. He said that the ‘foreigner’ Mrs Sonia Gandhi was importing cheap and low quality wheat from the other countries at higher prices but not giving due prices to the local farmers. He reminded that earlier also the government has adopted the unfair practices & policies for the farmers as when the farmer was selling the basmati produce, the ban on export was imposed but after three weeks when the same basmati produce reached the big exporter houses, the ban on export was lifted.
INLD chief said that the ban imposed on selling the wheat to the private traders has forced the farming community to sell the wheat produce at far below the market prices. The government agencies are doing all the buying this year in the state. The MSP of wheat is far less than the market prices, but the farmers have been forced to sell off the wheat at MSP, he added.
Mr Chautala announced that INLD government would provide ration to the poor man at half of the prices and farmers would be given due prices for their produce. He said that old age pension would be increased to Rs 500 per month and Adampur would be given status of Sub Division after coming to power.
Mr Chautala launched scathing attack on Congress for its divisive policies. He said that neither Congress grass nor Congress party was good for the people. He gave a clarion call to the people to be cautious of divisive politics on the basis of caste, creed or religion.INLD president reminded the people that in last election also Mr Bhajan Lal has sought people support on the pretext of that being his last election. He said that today, not even the family of Mr Bhajan Lal was with him in this election.
While addressing the rally, INLD state president Mr Ashok Arora condemned the HJC candidate Mr Bhajan Lal. He said that Congress party has ruined the state where as no development work was going on any where in the state. The people of the state were cursing the government for it’s all round failure to provide electricity, water and deteriorating law & order.
INLD candidate Prof Sampat Singh said that a change of government in the state has always followed INLD win in the byelections. "This time also, when he would come for a thanks giving tour, Mr Chautala would accompany him in the capacity of Chief Minister", he added. This election was not a election of MLA, rather it is a election to make Chaudhary Om Parkash Chautala as the chief minister of the state, he further added.
Prof Sampat Singh hit Mr Bhajan Lal for neglecting the Adampur constituency. He said that Mr Bhajan Lal has no right to seek vote as the people are still thirsty despite their full support to him for the last 40 years.
