Bhopal:Monday, August 30 : From the current academic session, 20 new English medium Ashram Shalas have` been started in the tribal-dominant areas of Madhya Pradesh. 30 Aug : Rajpal Singh was named captain of the 16-member hockey squad, announced by Hockey India on Monday, for the Commonwealth Games to be held in New Delhi.
The side has only one goalkeeper in Bharat Chetri and five defenders, including Sandeep Singh, who was awarded Arjuna Awardee on Sunday.
There are six midfielders and Rajpal is leading the forwards line-up along with Shivinder Singh and Tushar Khandker and Dharamvir Singh.

30 Aug : Mumbai is set to get another medical college, Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan has said.
Supported by public-private partnership, the college would come up in western suburbs.Chavan made the announcement at the inauguration of Rajasthani Sammelan’s Durgadevi Institute of Management Studies in suburban Malad on Sunday.
Minister for Higher and Technical Education, Rajesh Tope and Mumbai University Vice-Chancellor Dr Rajan Welukar were present on the occasion.
Chavan said the state government has proposed introduction of two new bills— Private University Bill and Maharashtra Technical University Bill.

Chandigarh, August 30 – While the Union Health and Family Welfare Minister,  Mr. Gulam Nabi Azad said that there was a proposal to introduce a special degree course in rural health care to meet the shortage of doctors in rural areas, Haryana Health Minister, Mrs. Geeta Bhukkal sought special incentives like residential accommodation for doctors severing in rural areas.

TV serial ‘Khichadi’ goes big screen

30 Aug : Fox Star Studios, who brought ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ and ‘My Name Is Khan’ are now releasing the big screen version of popular TV comedy ‘Khichadi’ on 1st October.
