31 March :The Governor of Mizoram today met Prabjit Singh, who is undertaking an All-India Cycling Expedition and arrived at Aizawl yesterday.

New Delhi, 1st Apr :   Shri S.C. Sinha, an IPS officer of 1975 batch (Haryana cadre) today took over as Additional Director in the Central Bureau of Investigation. Before joining CBI, he was Director General in the State Vigilance Bureau, Haryana.

1 Apr :The PGI director, Dr K.K. Talwar,  has once again been given an extension for two years by the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry. As per the orders issued today, Dr Talwar will continue as director as well as head of the cardiology department until 2011.

31 Mar :The Board has amended the rules relating to Tax Deduction at Source (TDS) and Tax Collected at Source (TCS) vide Notification No. S.O.858 (E) dated 25th March 2009.

31 Mar :The term of the Liberhan Ayodhya Commission of Inquiry has been extended by three months up to 30th June, 2009. The Commission is inquiring into the destruction of the Ram Janma Bhoomi-Babri Masjid structure at Ayodhya on 6th December, 1992.
