PM warns against “premature” withdrawal of the stimulus package

26 Sep : Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on Saturday said the scope and options for acceleration of stimulus package for the recovery of the economic crisis were “limited” but in the same breath not appeared to rule out any such possibility.

“Our response was to a specific domestic situation. It is true that we have limited scope for accelerating stimulus package and our options are limited because of factors like substantial fiscal deficit and Reserve Bank’s monetary policies. As of now inflation is not a problem,” he said.

Cong lashes out at Mayawati on Rahul’s surprise visit

24 Sep : Lashing out at the Uttar Pradesh government for objecting to the surprise visit of Congress MP, Rahul Gandhi, UPCC president Rita Bahuguna Joshi on Thursday said that it shows Chief Minister’s insecurity over inroads being made by the Congress leader in her vote bank.

India’s aircraft strength inadequate: Air Chief Marshal

24 Sep :Air Chief Marshal P V Naik on Wednesday said the country’s present fighter aircraft strength, which is one-third of China, was inadequate.
“Our present aircraft strength is inadequate. We have one third of the Chinese numbers. And that is why we are going for more,” Naik told reporters at the South Western Air Command (SWAC) headquarters in Gandhinagar.
