Narendra Modi summoned for riot case by SC appointed SIT

11  Mar : Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has been summoned by the Supreme Court-appointed Special Investigation Team(SIT) to appear before it on March 21 for questioning in post-Godhra riots in the state in 2002.

Eight years after the post-Godhra riots, Modi suffered the ignominy of being the first-ever chief minister of any state to be called for questioning in connection with a criminal complaint after he and his administration were accused of aiding and abetting riots in one area in Ahmedabad.

Mumbai: Ravindra Jadeja, the India and Rajasthan Royals all-rounder, will not participate in the 2010 edition of the Indian Premier League following a one-year ban that was handed to him by the IPL Governing Council.
The council took the decision after a meeting and also on instructions from BCCI President, Shashank Manohar, to punish the Saurashtra player for violating players’ guidelines. Jadeja will not be allowed to play for any IPL team for the next one year.

10 March : Deccan ChargersHyderabad: The secret behind Deccan Chargers’ winning performance in IPL 2009 is out. According to the Chargers’ captain Adam Gilchrist it was singing a song that made them the cohesive fighting unit that won the trophy.
