September 01, 2008 : A Spokesman of the Education department said here today that State level Teacher’s Day function would be held at Raj Bhawan on 5th September, 2008. He said that Smt. Prabha Rau, Governor would confer this year’s State Award upon four teachers of the state for their contribution in this field. Prof Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister would be present on the occasion.

September 01, 2008 :Smt. Sheela Dhumal, Chairperson, H.P. Red Cross Hospital Welfare Branch, while presiding over the Executive Committee meeting of the H.P. Red Cross Hospital Welfare Branch said here today that the Branch would provide all possible assistance to the sufferers of Bihar floods and added that the Branch would function as nodal agency and has setup a centre in Red Cross Building at Shimla.

1 Sep: Trials to select the Chandigarh  wushu  team  for boys and girls  will be held  on September 3  at 3:00 pm  at Labour  Hall,  Sector 30,  Chandigarh  for different weight categories.  Boys Weight categories:  45 kg,  48 kg, 52 kg, 56 kg, 60 kg, 65 kg, 70 kg, 75 kg and 80 kg . Girls: Below 45 kg, 48 kg, 52 kg, 56 kg & 60 kg.
