Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has allocated portfolios to his cabinet colleagues. The Chief inister has kept 50 important departments including Finance, Home, Higher Education, Secondary Education, Medical Education, Excise, Industrial Development, Housing, Sugarcane Development, IT, Environment and Forest with himself.
AIR correspondent reports that Azam Khan has been given portfolio of Parliamentary Affairs, Urban Development, Minority Welfare and Haj along with 3 other departments, while Shiv Pal Singh Yadav will look after Public Works Department and Irrigation.
Most of the cabinet ministers have been given the portfolios that they held during Mulayam Singh Yadav government in 2003 to 2007. Ambika Choudhary has been given Revenue Department and Ahmad Hasan got Health and Family Planning.
Raghuraj Pratap Singh has been given Food and Civil Supplies. Among the other Cabinet ministers Waqar Ahmad Shah gets Labour, Raja Aridaman Singh Transport, Anand Singh Agriculture, Balram Yadav Panchayati Raj, Awdhesh Prasad Social Welfare, Om Prakash Singh Land Development and Raja Ram Pandey Khadi and Village Industry.
Paras Nath Yadav has been given Minor irrigation, Ram Govind Choudhary Primary Education and Child Development, Durga Prasad Yadav gets Stamp and Registration, Brahma Shankar Tripathi Home Guard, and Vocational education, Kameshwar Upadhyaya Sports and Youth welfare and Ambedkar gram, Raj Kishor Singh Horticulture and Shiv Kumar Beria gets Handloom and Silk department.
The Chief Minister does not have any state minister in the all important departments including Finance, Home, Higher and Secondary Education and Industrial Development.
Among the Ministers of State Independent charge, Arvind Singh Gope gets Rural Development, Rajendra Singh Rana rural engineering and Bhagwat Sharan Gangwar Small Scale Industries.
