CHANDIGARH, October 28: Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Capt Amarinder Singh today condemned the reign of terror let loose by the Akali goons in several border villages of Dera Baba Nanak assembly constituency where one person was shot dead during the Deewali celebrations.
In a statement issued here today, Capt Amarinder said, he had received information that the Akali goons were roaming round freely without any fear of law as the police was proving to be mute spectator.
Warning the Akali goons and the police against inaction which has led to a sense of fear among the people, particularly the members of the minority community, the PCC President asked them to desist from such criminal activities. He told them it was a matter of three months more when everybody would be set right.
He pointed out, the residents of the Kalanaur and Dhianpur –the two main towns of Gurdaspur district, today observed Bandh against the free roaming of criminals, who on Diwali murdered a person apart from committing seven other lootings.
