LUDHIANA, May 11: The Union Rural Development ministry, Government of India has allocated Rs 39.17 crores for the rural roads in Ludhiana. The ministry has granted Rs 800 crores for the rural roads across Punjab.
Disclosing this here today, the Ludhiana MP and the National Spokesperson of the Indian National Congress Mr Manish Tewari said that the Union Minister for Rural Development Mr Jai Ram Ramesh had sanctioned Rs 800 crore for repairing two thousand kilometers of rural roads across Punjab.
He said, it was with his persistent efforts and the positive response shown by Mr Ramesh that got Punjab Rs 800 crores for repairing of rural roads. He hoped that the state government will proper utilize this money and neither misuse it nor divert it for other purposes.
Under this scheme five rural roads of Ludhiana will be covered.
