SAS NAGAR MOHALI, APRIL 28:The Punjab Education Minister Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema today issue directions to take strict action against all those Officials/Officers dragging their feet in providing jobs on compassionate ground to the eligible kin of employees who have died during the service.
Taking a serious note of increasing number of complaints on this issue the Education Minister directed the Secretary Education to fix a timeline and review all such case on weekly basis and punish all those found guilty of delay. The Minister also handed over recruitment letter to 16 candidates on compassionate ground. The Minister said that stations have also been allotted to all the newly recruited employees. Dr. Cheema was today reviewing the working of the Education Department and chaired different meetings at Punjab Education Board Complex.
Taking part in the meeting Mr. Balbir Singh Dhol, DPI, Secondary Education said that the department had received 62 application for the job on compassionate ground, out of this 10 case were rejected and recruitment letter to 16 candidates has been handed over today. He said the remaining case would be dealt with in 15 days and the recruitment letters to the eligible candidates would be issued.
The Education Minister also reviewed the working of various Model, Aadarsh and Meritorious Schools. This meeting was attended by Principals of 59 schools. Dr. Cheema said that any laxity in the management and service delivery in these schools could not be tolerated and departmental action would be taken against the erring officer or school management. The Minister asked the Principals of the 6 Meritorious Schools to make prior arrangement for the Hostel as one more class would soon be added into the school curriculum of these schools.
