Bikram Majithia is Aurangzeb in making: Capt Amarinder
CHANDIGARH, December 19: Condemning the suspension of Congress MLA Rana Gurjeet Singh from the assembly today, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Capt Amarinder Singh today expressed displeasure with the Speaker’s decision saying it was biased as it was actually the Youth Akali Dal president and Revenue Minister Bikram Majithia who was to be blamed for using unparliamentary language against Rana Gurjeet and Om Prakash Soni.
Reacting to the suspension of Rana Gurjeet, Capt Amarinder lashed out at Majithia for using unparliamentary language in the house. He said, it was unfortunate that the Speaker, Charanjit Singh Atwal, who despite having such a long experience, including 5 years in the parliament as Deputy Speaker, did not act in an impartial manner.
The PCC President said, the entire Congress party stood behind Rana Gurjeet and the party had decided to boycott the rest of the session in protest against his expulsion and solidarity with him.
Blaming Majithia for the ruckus in the house, the PCC President warned, he (Majithia) was an Aurangzeb in the making with all the attributes of despot and dictator like arrogance, ambition and ruthlessness.
Cautioning the Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal against the overriding ambition of Majithia, Capt Amarinder warned him, “I wish you a long life to stay around for a long time, but the day you are not around, I am sure, Bikram will take no time in usurping Sukhbir’s position like Aurangzeb did to his own brothers and father”.
He pointed out, Bikram was already onto it as he was grooming the criminal elements through Youth Akali Dal and his Bikram Sena to firm up his grip over the party, besides providing patronage to proclaimed offenders from across Punjab and outside.
