Nagaland : The people of New Thewati will now be able to light up their street at night. Thanks to the eight solar street lights provided by the troops of 46 Assam Rifles. It was a moment of joy for the inhabitants of this under developed village in Phek District very close to the Myanmar border. The 46 Assam Rifles troops provided these eight lights as part of ‘Op Sadbhavana’ with an aim to help with locals and foster better relationship with them.
The Chairman of New Thewati Village Council appreciated the initiative of Assam Rifles and expressed their gratitude by calling Assam Rifles as true friend. They also mentioned that selfless service extended by Assam Rifles will pave a way for greater association with the villagers.
